Rise Against have posted an update from the studio as they continue to work on their next full length. The band had this to say:

We're going into our third week here at The Blasting Room. Brandon beat the crap out his drums for seven days and then got into a jeep headed for the mountains and we haven't seen him since, but our ears are still bleeding from the drum tracks he laid down before he left…seriously.

Joe channeled some god of Motorhead and Sick Of It All or something and put down some bass tracks that sound like a cross between a Harley and Godzilla. It's seriously mean.

Chris and Tim are rockn the axes at present and starting on some vocals. We've been partaking in both Guitar Hero and Kareoke in our downtime, to prepare us for the tracking of course.

The band will be playing three "exclusive" and sold out shows in LA this May. May 16th-18th the band will be performing at the Troubadour with Strike Anywhere and a rotating opening band. Bands occupying the rotating opening slot include Authority Zero, Love Equals Death and The Blackout Pact. Tickets go on sale on February 15th.

The band plans on completing their followup to 2004's Siren Song of the Counter Culture with Bill Stevenson before the first of the shows. They will also be playing a show on March 18th in Miami, Florida with Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Coheed and Cambria, and more at Bicentennial Park.

The group also recently reissued their 2001 debut, The Unravelling and their single "Swing Life Away" spent more than twenty weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock singles chart.
