Dan Yemin of Paint It Black recently discussed the band's upcoming full length. The band is working at The Magpie Cage with producer J. Robbins on their next record.
As far as plans:
Probably the same as they've always been. We can get anywhere [East Coast] on the weekend so we have that covered without touring. Typically, once a year we get out to the West Coast for 20 days and we hit Europe for 2 weeks. Basically, we'll do what we can, which is what we've always been able to do. Unfortunately, there are places like Colorado or New Mexico we won't be able to get to because of the time constraints.
And the new record:
There are not gonna be any songs that sound like Joy Division, but there are parts of songs that definitely have moods that will reflect that. I think, on the last record, there was a part in the middle of that song "365" that was straight out of Joy Division. People listen to the record and they immediately hear Minor Threat, Black Flag early, and early 80's hardcore. If you listen to it again there's all this other stuff that isn't typical.
