Vancouver punk legends D.O.A. will hit the studio this month to record a full length in time for their 30th anniversary. The band will work with Bob Rock on the project. The prolific Winnipeg producer grew out of the same scene as D.O.A., producing records from the Pointed Sticks, Young Canadians and Subhumans, before moving on to major releases from mainstream acts like Metallica, the Cult and Motley Crue among others.
The new record will be titled Northern Avenger and released by Joe Shithead Keithley's Sudden Death Records. The album should hit stores in Canada in May of 2008, with an August release set for the rest of the world. Songs expected to appear on the record include "Human Bomb," "Police Brutality," "Crossfire," "Devils' Speedway" and "Donnybrook." D.O.A.'s current lineup consists of frontman Keithley, along with bassist Randy Rampage and drummer James Hayden.
