About:

"DEEP ELM RECORDS is about the music that moves us, the outstanding bands that create it and our desire to make you aware of both. We see our label being about people coming together, meeting, singing and sharing that experience with each other...those are the times that we remember forever. It's about this power of music...and that's what music is all about. Music inspires. Founded on respect for music and the creative process, a do-it-together philosophy and undying integrity in everything we do, Deep Elm strives to further our strong reputation as one of the world's most reliable sources of quality independent recordings.

Beginning with the release of a seven inch record in 1996 and now with nearly ninety releases in our catalog, Deep Elm continues to build a better label - one that operates on principles other than the pursuit of earnings. Deep Elm frowns upon the politics that often plague our scene, choosing instead to focus exclusively on music."

Deep Elm is best known for their 10-volume series of compilations called the Emo Diaries, as well as being the starting place for such bands as Planes Mistaken For Stars, Brandtson, The Appleseed Cast, and The White Octave.

Latterman (2000-2007)
Latterman has split up. They explained: Bassist Matt Canino sent the following to Punknews.org: We were a band for 7 years and it was time to not be a band anymore. I was in New York less and less and there was some record label stress and things were just getting too weird with the shows we were getting asked to play, the things we were getting asked to do, and the way we felt the band was being perceived. Personally, I don't give a shit about "being positive" or whatever that meant when we were all 18, and…
