Glasseater's "Medicine" is, for lack of a better term, "that one Glasseater song." Ask anyone who sort of follows the underground music scene if they've heard of Glasseater, and they'll say something to the effect of "Yeah, I have an MP3 of that one song... 'Medicine,' I think." Every band gets their one song, and Glasseater definitely already used theirs up. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
I didn't realize this was Punk American Idol. Who cares how they compare to Thursday? They're a very good band, and have the right blend of screaming-singing. This cd is definitely one of the best I've heard recently, and it seems like Victory has a string of good releases (Streetlight Manifesto, BTBAM, Silverstein). They have pretty good music, their singer is alright, I hate their screams though. thursday kills these guys musically, lyrically, vocally, every way possible. The lyrics on this cd are descent, not great, not bad. I agree. This album is amazing. Case closed. no one seems to mention that glasseater was one of the bands in it's genre... i mean they came up at the same time as Thursdays back in 98' before that whole genre blew up... and i think this cd is amazing i like glassjaw, but they do have alot of idiot fans, maybe jocks isnt the right term, maybe nu-metal kids Woah there pal who said Glassjaw has jocks for fans. The last time I went to see Glassjaw, I didnt see one jock. Unless, I myself am a jock and dont want to admit it. Or if guitar playing has become a sport and me being one of 10 million guitar plays... then I guess im a jock. In the long run im trying to say, this band trys to hard, and theyre nothing compaired to Glassjaw. Word. I agree. I think Glassjaw is okay, I just prefer Glasseater. glassjaw are a shitty band with jocks for fans. I think the song "Everything is Beautiful when you don't look down" is the new "Medicine." It's a much better song musically, and the lyrics are much more meaningful (especially if you read what the song is about on their "Behind the Music" section of the CD). The intro to t he second song is equally amazing. sorry that should have been a 1 i didnt think it was physically possible but this both sucks AND blows Worst band in the entire world. No, your a fat em kid because you think logic is a football team. And ya know, what i just said made sense. So wait, I'm a fat emo kid because I don't like Count the Stars? Touchdown for team logic! someone please tell me how i can get the Hey Mercedes cd *sniff* my dad died! WAAAAAAAAAAH! I swear to god... Forty-minutes-west is the biggest fucking fag on earth. Hes probably a fat emo loser.... In fact i know he is. So shut the fuck up forty.... I already know what youre going to say : "oh real mature, blah blah". Fuck you. I think medicine was "that" song...... I heard that when these guys played in Miami about 3 months ago Jason, the old singer, sang for some of the songs.... he sang so hard he threw up for about 30 minutes after the show...True story Snapcase is good. Count the Stars is okay. Glasseater is amazing. This band isn't any good anymore. "FORTY LIKES COUNT THE STARS! FORTY LIKES COUNT THE STARS!" don't forget darkest hour. them and snapcase keeps victory in existence for me. "one can only hope a few of those kids will pick up a Glassjaw album by mistake." "Forty just called me and told me that "Snapcase" was a typo - he actually meant "Count The Stars." I guess his keyboard is miswired or something." no, it's definitely snapcase... Forty just called me and told me that "Snapcase" was a typo - he actually meant "Count The Stars." I guess his keyboard is miswired or something. Snapcase rocks. That's a fact. I love Glasseater too though. "The best band on Victory? It's Snapcase, and don't you forget it." Face to the floor - Their best song. If there is anyone who hasn't heard "Face to the Floor", you need to check it out. It was on the Don't be Scared comp. a few years ago. Its the one Glasseater song that really turned me on to them. The best band on Victory? It's Snapcase, and don't you forget it. 5 stars. This is the best band on victory. I thought this album was amazing, but I guess I see things from a very biased perspective (seeing as how I am close friends with all the guys in the band). I think it's amazing that they were signed to Victory Records, and I hope their music is spread to all corners of the nation. I've been a Glasseater fan since the beginning, and I think this CD is their best and most mature. Anyone who thinks the songs feel empty or cliche needs to check out the enhanced extras on their PC and check "Behind the Music." Fuck, 7 Years Bad Luck was one of the best albums of that whole singing/yelling genre... The self titled was mediocre, but "Medicine" was a pretty sweet song... This shit sucks. oh, thank the lord, i was waiting for someone to give an unbiased opinion of this terrible, terrible band Remember when this band didn't suck? They name drop like any other company does to catch the attention of Joe-Jackass that doesn't know any better but has heard of those bands. Although I'm kind of tired of the promotional stickers myself, realize those stickers aren't put there for anyone who comes to sites like this. They're largely for the New Found Glory fan who's also maybe heard of Thursday who has suburban money to burn who grabs it because he doesn't know any better. on another note, does Victory feel withdrawal if they don't namedrop in their promotion stickers? I like Glasseater, I like a lot of Victory's releases, but this is fucking ridiculous. arms and legs above self-titled but still nowhere near their miles ahead / 7YBL days it fit in with the review, medecine is a great fucking song but it sucks that there are 4 songs on that cd which tries to sound like medecine. Yeah, mark me down as somebody else who only knows Seven Years Bad Luck. Uh, was Medicine on some major comp or something? Cause I've never even heard anyone talk about that track. Tsk tsk, Scott: You know what happens when you assume, don't you? Yeah, mark me down as somebody else who only knows Seven Years Bad Luck. Uh, was Medicine on some major comp or something? Cause I've never even heard anyone talk about that track. 4 out of 10? And this coming from a guy that likes 'indie rock emo' bands? Yeah their oldest albums are definately the best...I haven't even heard this song "Medicine" that you're talking about...I would consider Seven Years Bad luck their "song". Anyhow, after reading that Thursday interview it seems like Victory convinved these guys to lose all the screaming... Their albums on dead droid and eulogy (later distributed by fearless) were the best and these past 2 craptacular albums makes me miss ex-lead singer jason. I always thought "Seven years bad luck" was their one song, probably because that's the only Glasseater song I know. I know i've seen these guys play before, but I don't remember when. Possibly opening for Small Brown Bike and The Suicide Macines last year. Odly enough I'm listeing to Glassjaw. |
