Now, almost 10 months after the release of the brutal Wake Up Screaming, F-Minus has finally released its once "vinyl only" single "Sweating Blood" EP. The EP contains 4 tracks, including two previously unreleased from the Wake Up Screaming sessions titled "War Song" and "Real Deal". These two songs ARE NOT just fodder the band used to put on this single to make an extra buck...these songs are excellent and most likely left off the album due to it's already large size and due to the fact that these songs are much more in the vein of their first two albums. They are extremely fast, brutal hardcore punk anthems.

"War Song" is, of course, exactly what you would think it is about. Probably one of the best songs to come out of this recent period of unjustified war, it is fast, loud, punishing and features Brad Logan on vocals....it reminds me of some of F-Minus's early tracks like "You Owe Me".....only with better production and an obviously more developed band. "Real Deal" is another speedy hardcore anthem and Logan track.....a bit catchier than "War Song" but just as brutal. This EP further cements my belief that Brad is one of the greatest vocalists in hardcore punk today.

The title track and other inclusion "Controversy (World Of Shit)" are worthy companions to these two blistering new tracks. The 2 previously released tracks feature Erika Daking on vocals and her furious would make most male hardcore vocalists feel inferior....she's amazing.

Anyway, if you are a fan of this band or hardcore punk in general...check this low priced gem out and tear shit up.

I like the question guy. Hes funnier then you.

Yeah, F-Minus def pulled a Carabababababa on us with this one. That acoustic song "I eat my broken eart, just like I eat my dead girlfriend" was a little over the top.

    I still cried though.

This review was good, but here's how I'd make it better:

    1. Were their parents mad about getting an F?

    2. Mine sure would be.

    3. When I was younger I used to spell "sure" like this: "shure"

    4. Does that qualify me to be in F-Minus?

    5. Since recieving thier grades, have they gone on to be succesfull in another field?

    6. If they got such a poor grade, why did this album even come out?

i dunno, guys... f-minus have always been on the poppy side, but this new e.p. is delving even further into their apparent fascination with emo... the song subjects range from lost loves anf forgotten memories to... well, not much else... but if you didn't think the new dashboard was pop-emoey enough for you, be sure to pick this up

I haven't heard this release, so I'll give it a neutral score.

Anyway, I like F-Minus, but can't stand Brad Logan's vocals. Maybe they're just a little tooo hardcore for me, ha ha. Erika Daking's great, though.

I ordered the vinyl from Bridge 9 almost 4 months ago and still haven't gotten my copy, and when I asked for a refund the fuckers wouldn't give it to me(which is ok as long as I get my records). I can't wait to hear this, but I honestly don't expect to any time soon.

wake up screaming is about 30 minutes. yeah, 15 songs in (over) 30 minutes - a record by f-minus standards.

"Suburban Blight" is my favorite from F-Minus. Nothing that original to me, but really great energy and speed. Much more old school sounding than most hardcore bands, and that's a plus to me.

F-Minus make me all weepy-eyed. I just finally heard Wake Up Screaming last night...kind of slow for my tastes, but the jagged energy was there. I hope this band sort of does a return to their roots and starts putting out shit like their first album: 30 second songs that blur together with insane speed.
This is simply the best hardcore (or punk for that matter) band outside of the DIY scene.

Speaking of that first album...lemme find that sucker......

"War Song" is one of my favorite F-minus songs. It is really really good!

The 2 new songs make this ep worth the low price even if you have "Wake Up Screaming."
