The Phenomenon of Craving is a good EP. It was released after the awesome Operation Phoenix in May 2000. The EP has 6 songs, here's a rundown:

Well it's come to my attention that some people seriously can't read Who is this Mikeinflames, and why is he such a flaming asshole. gimme a fucking break, this came out a long ass time ago, jeezus h Everyone click this link and then the number it tells you to click. Hey since 94' way to give props to the colored vinyl attaboy. I honestly can listen to any GR and enjoy it. This ep is prolly at the bottom of my GR list. Symptoms, Operation Phoenix, the new one, THE SPLIT WITH KILL YOUR IDOLS RIPS, are my favs. The slapshot intro to this record with the props to Dave Lagwagon is funny shit. Plus Slapshot owns as a movie. Russ could take a shit and i'd like it better than any rise against. Bands like Rise Against and Strike Anywhere maybe Good Riddance rip-offs, but they're much better at doing the whole 'melodic hardcore' thing. Exit English and Revolutions Per Minute are 2 of my fav records of the year. "They should've called this "The Phenomenon of Sucking" instead. What do you see in these guys? They're not even Christian! cant we just say you are all idiots and call it a day? Heres a message to that emo hero a couple posts down. That was the stupidest bunch of garbage that ive ever read in my life, pavement is emo? archers of loaf is political emo? those are indie rock bands that were around before the word emo was even invented. You were still in diapers and I was in grade 9 so shut up. Next thing your gonna tell me is that your a LONG time pixies fan too, talk about the flavour of the month band right now. Good Riddance's last record was kinda weak. i've said it before, and i'm going to keep saying it until it stops to that other dude that posted a list, do yourself a huge favor and go buy any dillenger 4 album, i'd suggest starting with midwest songs of the americas'. i would put it in my top 20 punk albums of all time i think.their lyrics are not as political as propaghandi, but they are very socially conscious/commentary and i think are the strongest lyrics on the fat roster. and the cd has more energy than any of the bands. This band would be better if the guy on the EP cover played bass for them. "hey fuckers... how about u fuckers actually stop bitching about each of these bands and 1 guy h8s this band and then he also h8s this band cos they say fuck the government or sum shit. m8... when ur band is signed to fat wreck and ur fucking workin ur ass off touring all the fuckin time just to try to play music and then have sum bitch ass kid diss on them cos they say fuck the gov or ive got more cred cos im older so therefore i am the scene police so wat i say therefore goes.. this bnd officially sux!! NO u can all get fucked.... Good riddance are a bloody awsome band and "1 for the braves" was the song that got me into em... make sure u give every fickin band a chance b4 u diss them... just cos 1 guy says they say fuck the gov that means their shit.... hell its better whinging about how ur girlfriend just dumped ur sorry ass.. thats not punk.. thats pop.. its a pop culture.. Hey ... how about you stop being such a dumbass and type out "ate" instead of using 8's All of you, stop being so close-minded! Emo is the best kind of music ever! Especially political emo, like Archers of Loaf and Pavement and Cursive and Jets To Brazil's Disgrace and Cindy Lauper and Maura Davis' pussy!! hey fuckers... how about u fuckers actually stop bitching about each of these bands and 1 guy h8s this band and then he also h8s this band cos they say fuck the government or sum shit. m8... when ur band is signed to fat wreck and ur fucking workin ur ass off touring all the fuckin time just to try to play music and then have sum bitch ass kid diss on them cos they say fuck the gov or ive got more cred cos im older so therefore i am the scene police so wat i say therefore goes.. this bnd officially sux!! Honestly I pretty much agree with your list, although I've grown a bit tired of NOFX, but that's mostly cuz I listened to them a shit load, I would rateTop ten like thist like this: My earlier comment kinda sounds like I would have voted for him if I lived in the US "PS I didn't vote for Bush either i meant i agree with the dumb kids comment you had. i don't agree with dumb kids.....ahhh fuck it hey notfeelingcreative, lower your voice. i just thought the whole "you don't like political bands!" was pretty hilarious. like your shouting it in my face. FYI to everyone that reads the crap I post on here: my exclamation points are a habit and not an expression of anger or strong emotional attachment to a subject! Therefore, if I reply to someone's post and use exclamation points at the end of every sentence, I am not neccesarily pissed off, it's not really a conscious thing! PS I didn't vote for Bush either I used to own that Lagwagon album jesus there mike, ok, yea they have good lyrics i agree, so does D4, i'd say D4 is on their level. propaghandi do have much better lyrics than most political bands, they are educated, its just not my thing. i didnt vote for bush but i did vote, so i'm not politically devoid, i was one of the few 20 year olds in the contry to vote. i also do own tomorrows empires and have read the lyrics. christ just calm down. go read lagwagon lyrics, i feel just as passioately about them as you do propaghandi. no i read propaghandi's lrycs, do yourself a favor and buy hoss by lagwagon and read the lyrics. they are sick. I'm sick of people rippin on propaghandi " you don't have to agree but say what you mean! You don't like political bands!" whoaaaaaa dudes!! first off i wasnt saying being older means you have more cred, i meant that i'm 23, so don't start the normal 'oh another 15 year old making an uneducated list', i trying to say i've been listening to fat wreck bands since '97 , '94 if you count nofx, so i'm not some moron kid. second, i never said good riddance or propaghandi suck. i think they're ok, i'm just not much for politcal punk, however, d4 have outstanding socially conscious lyrics and are political. i own propaghandi and good riddance albums. i don't think age matters with cred, i was just saying, i've been down with fat punk long enough to have an educated opinion. so fuck off. my list is my list. "as for propaghandi, insulting and condescending to the listener." HA! This EP turned me completely off of Good Riddance. Overall I thought it was a really weak release with no stand out tracks. I loved Operation Phenoix and then this came out and I haven't bothered to even listen to a Good Riddance album since. To the 23 year old cunt you're just a jaded bitch go to hell. Honestly almost all Fat bands are good, it just depends on what mood you're in. Okay Poppypants, you're 23 so? If you equate age with validiity, I'm older than you. what's your point? Everyone has the right to state their political opinions whether it be on a cd or in a book, blog whatever, you don't have to agree but say what you mean! You don't like political bands! I happen to think lagwagon and NUFAN are boring as hell, I really am not to big on bands that have nothing to say. But, don't pretend that just because you have a problem with politics in music that means that certain bands suck! That's like Dan Brown *saying* is superior to Faulkner because he discusses religious issues while Faulkner writes about niggers. I have to say, out of all the bands on Fat, Strung Out and Dillinger Four have the best lyrics. And NUFAN isn't too far behind. Does Russ still consider himself straight edge? To be over the legal drinking age & still walk around with x's on your hands calling yourself straigh edge is silly. When you get to adulthood it's just a choice not to do drugs, drink or anything else you don't want to do. You're not in high school anymore, it no longer needs a name. "to put good riddance at the bottom and leave off propagandhi kills your credibility!" What's wrong with you you stupid cunt? ok, sorry i left off propaghandi and swinging utters , i'll revise my list for you to further piss you off "So Lagwagon are lyrically better than Rise Against?" I like Symptoms of a Leveling Spirit the best, this is solid but just doesn't ever quite get to the level of their best stuff. You should own it anyway, cause Good Riddance is fucking awesome. Comprehensive Guide is their best by far. And I like my blue vinyl 10" of this release, it makes me all warm inside... Against Me! suck balls It's become cool for the kids to like Against me! now. Goddammit, you should have been around when fat was still new....Glory days no more. They should've called this "The Phenomenon of Sucking" instead. What do you see in these guys? They're not even Christian! good riddance rule. this EP is their greatest release to date in terms of bang for buck. it has their two best songs on it. of course, true to form, i hated this EP when i first bought it. but you know what? now i love it. What about the Swingin' Utters? Your list is shit. That list is ridiculous. Granted that I like anti-flag (not as much as I used to, but better than nufan!) You put lagwagon and no use close to the top and good riddance at the bottom, propagandhi didn't even rank high enough to make your stupid list, whatever you're smoking don't share it with anyone!I understand why most of you hate a-f but to put good riddance at the bottom and leave off propagandhi kills your credibility! So Lagwagon are lyrically better than Rise Against? oh yea i read my post, it doesnt make sense. the end of it is directed towards good riddance only, rise against and against me are great. i meant good riddance is just about as bad as fat gets, next to anti flag. "poopypants mom had diarehha when she gave birth to him poopypants mom had diarehha when she gave birth to him ok. first off, the lawrence arms and D4 write circles around these guys lyrically and musically. you listen to 5 goodriddance songs, youve heard them all. they are either the poppy ones, like one for the braves and that 2 steps back song or the minute and a half quick tempo rise against sounding hardcore song. you can add rise against to that list too. and against me. they stand for something positive, but their lyrics are pathetic when they try to be political, almost as bad as anti-flag. thats one fat band you can put them ahead of. You suck pooopypants, to call GR weaker than the bands you listed is simply idiotic. how dare you not mention that Dave Raun played drums on this EP?!?!?! When they lost Sean, i didn't think anyone could fill his shoes, but those 2 tours with dave we're just about as good. yea this is decent, i think this is probably one of fats weakest bands though, sorry. i'll take strung out, lagwagon, nofx, lawrence arms, d4, mad caddies, no use over these guys any day. their albums just seem so inconsistent, the songs are either real good or just a minute of fat punk hardcore whatever that just sounds played out. She wasn't hot anyway, and one for the braves is GR's worst song. No, Russ and Rachel divorced. Yes, this is where "is the answer jesus?" was used! Is this the one where they used the Slapshot quote? Yeah Dave was filling in on drums at this point and is on this EP. Another reason to get it! Ha, is Russ Rankin still with former Much Music VJ Rachel Perry? didn't dave raun play drums on this? I love this fucking ep, i've had three copies, and coinceidentally just ordered a fourth (the third is skipping) yesterday! "One for the braves" "calendar" are two of my favorite GR songs! god, i love good riddance (: !!!!!! "One For The Braves" is a great song, good video too. GR rock, no matter what. no true. love the album perfect balance between their hardcore and "pop" leanings This is probably their worst release, still solid though. |
