For most people this was the first that they had ever heard of Blink. Blink's follow up album to "Cheshire Cat", was just short of incredilbe. Despite their surfacing into the mainstream, Blink came out on this record and blew our minds.

"Cheshire Cat", showed us a promising young band on the rise, and "Dude Ranch", not only turned heads...it broke necks. Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus were stellar, they played their hearts out providing us with many tempo changes and start-stops (not bad for only 1 guitar player). Blink utilized their dual vocalists, and belted out 15 heart-filled anthems about girls, teenage life, and girls.

Although they did get radio play, due to their big record label (MCA),"Dammit" did not justice for the band. "Enthused", "Lemmings","Pathetic", "Boring", "Josie", do I really need to go on? Blink used such variance on all tracks so that you didn't get that "I've heard this somewhere before".

"Dude Ranch" is MUSIC at it's finest. What more could you ask for. So now that we have all this "Blink" crap crammed down our throats, maybe we all need to pack our bags and go back to visit "Dude Ranch".

Ok, this guy that commented 2 times underneath me needs to chill out, it's ok for people to dislike his/her favorite band, his hositilty notes at his/her underlying sense of anger and uselessness in this world. Ok, blink kinda sucks now in my opinion, they lost their "zeal" to me, but this CD is classic, it's not all about getting dumped or girls, and even if a lot is, the songs are written with a wry sense of humour and wit. "Waggy" is great.

    My Score:

I think people are generally saying that this is blinks best album, i would probably agree well maybe the self titled one, either way they aint the best pop punk band granted they do what they do well but green day are still much better and still have some credibility as they release what they want to release and not waht they're told to although some folks say warning was a mistake(which it wasnt) atleast it was theyre mistake. blink have no exuse for enema.

true and no i wouldnt get pissed and call you a poser. i just get pissed at the people that call blink punk and then say fuck real punk music.

    My Score:

whoever says blink is "poserpunk" can cram all the rights and wrongs within punk ethics up their tight asses.

Isnt it about tolerence? respect? Cuz i dont see much of it about anymore. Id rather HELP people see what the 'truth' is within a genre of music then yell at them and make them completely shy away from what you believe is right. Its complete bullshit. You guys suck.

Blink 182 are not more punk then they are not punk. Theyre good music. What you want to call them wont change anything so shut up.

I listen to bands like Rise Against, NOFX, Dillinger Four etc AND Blink. Does that make me a poseur? If u saw me walkin in town...listening to blink, youd laugh at me, but you woudltn know shit about 95% of me...

Judging people on musical tastes is so wrong.

Im having a boring/bad day. Im out. sorry for the rant.

"Blink are the best pop punk band because they do it better and every ones who says they aint original are stupid because every other pop punk band were inspired in some way by Blink."

Oh so your saying that bands like screeching weasel and the descendents were inspired by blink? Thats funny i didnt know blink was around in the early 1980s. I believe you fit into the ignorant dipshit category.

    My Score:

The guy who said the album would be better if they gave a shit about the quality! well Blink do care about the quality of the record and the quality was shit because they couldnt really afford to get great quality.

Blink are the best pop punk band because they do it better and every ones who says they aint original are stupid because every other pop punk band were inspired in some way by Blink.

and all you guys saying im really punk and Blink aint. Well my guess is Blink were the band who got you into punk in the first place beacuse you were sitting on your sofa with nice neat hair checking out the new Britney Spears video with a huge boner then all of a sudden Blink come on and you go out and get your mohican!

This is a quality disc. Blink's second best compared to cheshire cat. This has some great songs on it. Check out that ROCKING intro to enthused. Kick ass song. Too bad they decided to go in a pop direction and write songs that trl kids and radio kids will like oh well.

    My Score:

this is definetely pop punk at its finest. it may sound like nofx in some respect, but nofx never put a cd this strong all the way through.. blink 182 definetely hit their peak with this one, it does everything they could ever want to do... it will eternally remind me of high school, but maybe thats why blink 182 isnt that good now, theyre married and still writing about high school. very solid cd

Yes I know, all you punks hate Blink 182. I can't blame you. Their new shit sucks ass. I am not a big fan either but, I have to admit Dude Ranch is pretty fucking good album. Oh yeah and just because they signed with MCA on this album doesn't make them sellouts. They sold out when they released Enema of the State. That is when they started singing bitchy pop music for 13 year old girls. It's a fucking shame.

I hate this fucking album. This is Blink at it's worst. The vocals are shit and the bass lines are just fuckin pathetic. All my friends say this is the best Blink album. It could have been if they actually gave a shit about the quality. Cheshire Cat was much much better than this piece of ass.

    My Score:

this album is awesome. the opener pathetic, dammit, apple shampoo, josie, dick lips, untitled, enthused are all classics. track 2 is pretty solid. but a new hope, emo, lemmings, boring and the last song are all just filler.

    My Score:

No Blink-182 album deserves a perfect score. Nor does it deserve to be called MUSIC at it's finest. I'm not being a Blink-hater or anything. The trendy girls can love them all they want. It's none of my concern. But to give Dude Ranch a perfect score is completely ridiculous to me. No matter how you look at it. Another average album from the most overrated punk band, today.

    My Score:

Blink 182 is one of my favorite bands. To those who say Blink 182 is gay, "it takes one to know one." The best music videoin the world is "Josie" from this CD. The songs are packed with emotional lyrics with a twist of sick comedy. One of my top 20 punk albums.

Blink 182 is one of the more dull bands i've seen. I guess if i had to pick a favorite it'd be this one. They are just so bland. Now i know the few blink fans out there will attack me and saythat they are "so funny" and shit but come on.....In the course of warped tour and other bands i wanted to see that were opening for blink i've seen em about 6 times and though the first was rather ammusing but it's the same damn lame-ass jokes everytime. I'm not EVEN gonna get into the sell-out issue. Blink stinks, i think i'll make a website about it

this is cd isn't bad at all. its good fast pop punk. i just think that they got to poppy and their stuff is too over produced. its a sheam cuz hteres a lot of talent in this band.

Personally, I think this album is only mediocre. You guys can say all you want about them being "punk" back then and not now but seriously, they haven't changed much. I think that they have only gotten better, not worse. Dude Ranch, while cool, has too many songs with the same tempo and not enough variety for my tastes.

I remember when it came out. My friends were obbsessed with "Dammit" for a week(Who wasn't). Then everyone eventually got bored with this CD. I always thought it was alright, but no masterpiece.

This album is ok but it sounds too much like NOFX. It is more listenable than the newest crap though. There's better things to spend your money on. Beer, cigarettes, toilet paper, fast food, porn, etc.

Yep.. back when Blink was punk. Now they're not punk, but they're still okay. Cheshire Cat was best by far, but this is still a good album. Oh, yeah, and just because it's fast doesn't mean it's good. Just how just because you're stupid and immature doesn't mean your opinion means more than anyone else's.

    My Score:

I must admit this is one of my fave albums. I will disagree that the songs dont sound the same though, most of the songs on their sound alike. Also, Hoppus isn't really all that impressive on bass, its Delonge and Raynor who carry the music itself.
