As a fellow punk aficionado, it was a slow transition for me to start listening to stuff outside of the realm of music that this site seems to thrive off of. But I am a bit older than I suspect the mean age of viewer-ship is on this monster, and I guess that with age you tend to diversify various tastes and try new stuff out mostly because it gets boring doing the same old things or listening to the same CDs over and over, year after year. So yeah, basically here I am reviewing something that I suspect would normally receive a handful of shit thrown at by the typical 16-year-old listener, but here I am also saying "fuck you" to those same kids. This review goes out to the weary early-to-mid-twenties demographic, and hopefully some open-minded young'uns as well, who are just sort of tired with the "musica regurgitata" found here all too often.

great review man! i'm 13 and i can already branch outside of just one genre. It's grown on me. I'm over the too-much-treble thing. Great great record. Catchy as hell. This shit is good. I have been listening to these two for awhile now. The song writing is what pushes it over for me and alotta 21 shows, you can tell this isn't your little sister's pop shit. There is no way this is a 4 star album. This shit is a half step abve your avril lavines and simple plans. Pure shits. As a fat, straight, white male I will tell you that I love this album. It's just a really good pop album. I know two people who are really really really into this band. But they're both lesbians, so I think that might have something to do with it. I've heard most of "So Jealous," and I didn't really like it at all. However, their song "I Know I Know I Know" is unbelievably amazing. What's so creepy about "psycho stalker lesbians?" that myspace guy says that you're not hardcore if you listen to emo music yet hey listen to a static lullaby their fans creep me the fuck out. all these psycho stalker lesbians. forget it if you are a guy who enjoys their music, if you're not a lesbian that's been into them since day one you are not a true fan! psychos... i've washed my hands of tegan and sara. i stuck by them for over 5 years now and they just keep letting me down. they are awful live! weither it's "solo" or with their "band." I've com to the conclusion that only idiots with bad taste in music use the term "haters." "punknews is the same website that gave From Autumn to Ashes a 5/5 and Good Charlotte a 4.5/5" WOW that band does suck worse than this one, you're right! to the guy below me you are wrong...after surfing through I found this shitty band...they lost at life...well right now they seem to be kinda popular but I'd say they'll shit the bed soon... reall horrible fucking band http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile &friendID=3137240&Mytoken=20050819174526 p.s., you can talk shit about pitchfork and punknews as much as you want (i don't take either of them too seriously) ok dude, i'm not qualified to comment about music, you're right This stinks, i have pitchfork to back me up on that! the lyrics on this album are so lame wow. it finally came through. i submitted this over a month ago. haters. I hate to say it, but anyone who's paying attention to Buddyhead isn't really qualified to comment about music (maybe having someone take a dump in his ears, but not music). once again i'll rely on buddyhead to set the record straight haha thanks man, it just kinda came to me "F-emo" = my new favorite genre name. Awesome! Interesting comment by Senior Lush. The problem remains that even if their live show is killer, most people on this site still probably wouldn't go. The way I look at it an album is like a trailer for a bands live show. If the album is good, with any luck, the live show should be better. However, if the album is bad I don't hold out for the live show. That's why I sort of wish they'd do away with music videos and just make live footage of the single the band is releasing. I'd be much more interested to see...Say, A7X play "Bat Country" live than to watch a horrible zombified video. Same goes for T&S, if they are good I'd rather see the live footage than listen to the album. But I'm an asshole. "fuck this. fuck this review fuck this stupid trendy fuckin band and fucke those uber trendy fuckin girls trying to convince people they have talent. this is one piece of garbage that i hope never leaves the record store." fuck this. fuck this review fuck this stupid trendy fuckin band and fucke those uber trendy fuckin girls trying to convince people they have talent. this is one piece of garbage that i hope never leaves the record store. Great album, great review. Tegan is P Fresh's girlfriend. He's been working on turning her for MONTHS. Wow, I'm shocked someone reviewed this for punknews.org. i saw this "band" in montreal. terrible show, i was there for the bar and the chicks i can't even sit through walking with a ghost, but the radio plays it all the time. not sure about the rest of their stuff. that one song bugs me enough to avoid the cd at all costs. i dont think i would stick anything in these chicks these bitches are boring and you know it, someone's just hoping to get fucked when they come to town. Don't know if that "Walking with a Ghost" song is on here but that song gets on my last fucking nerve. It sounds nice enough until you realize that it's about 8 lines long just repeating over and over again. Then every time it comes on it just grates like a cheesegrater on your nipples. I liked this a lot too, so I'm glad to see someone else give it a chance. Good as it is though, the two albums that came before it [This Business Of Art & If It Was You] are just as fun. Oi!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ALLZ BEEEZ PUNX OVER 'ERE AT DA 'ORG! |
