It boggles the mind that this album went so overlooked upon its release in 1994; maybe if it was released today on a label like Trustkill or Victory it would get some much deserved attention. This album is a cult classic; if you love it, you love it very much. Perhaps the lack of attention is due to a combination of interchanging members, laziness, and drug problems. Though they formed in the early 80's, this is only the second bonafide album they managed to release.

"brute metal force of Avenged Sevenfold" joey is the best bass player since geddy lee... ps sorry for spelling im drunk:) ok listen im a huge rkl fan i went as far as meeting them kissing a** and actualy hanging out with chris and joe in SF. the reason i found this site is hearing this new band called sevenfold something, and thinking they rip rkl off alot. For one thing they say dose alot. any way its good rkl owns and this is there best ercord but the next will be better Ha, this is actually kinda weird and bringing memories back. Great to see a review of this posted here. At the time RKL released their albums on Epitaph I bought everything that came out on the label, so I'm the proud owner of all 3 of their first albums, and to be honest, I like the first release (Reactivate) even more than this one. In a way I can understand someone referring to Avenged Sevenfold. Of course there's a huge difference, but in those days I was also confused if this was actually a punk or metal release, due to the many guitar-virtuosity that is on these albums. Let's be honest, there's not that many punkalbums that show these skills as in metal. Anyway, I also had the pleasure to catch these guys live in Amsterdam in 1995, and that bass-player was really amazing to witness. At the same time it was amazing to see how well these guys played considering how drunk and/or doped they were. Maybe it's only gossips, but at that time people talked about avoiding to host these guys in your home or book a hotel for them... maybe someone knows more about that? " brute metal force of Avenged Sevenfold" should be called "bitches to fags" yeah this cd owns agreed this record is most defenitally kickass This is definitely one of my all time favorites. Yeah, almost every song starts out with "WELLLLL!!!" but that's just the Jason Sears thing to do. Useless bit of Punk Rock trivia: The drummer on this album, Dave Raun, is the drummer of Lagwagon now. Wow. Cool I know. And yes, I have an original pressing. No, I will not sell it to you. this record (and i do mean the LP) sat in the bin at Record Convergence in Fairfax for the entire time I knew of that store - about 5 years. how does this compare to rock n roll nightmare? that shit rocks hard. This album is great, other than the fact that Jason sounds like Vince Neil. Too bad RKL have not recorded anything since. I own this and haven't listened to it in a couple of years. It's great, but about half of the songs start with the singer going "WEEEELLLLLLLLLLL!" Great record, even though I haven't seen my copy in about seven years, I'm not sure if it's availible any longer, at least not through epitaph. I haven't listened to this album, but the score's for "Keep Laughing". if rkl reminds you of cockrock, you should go ahead and hang yourself now, because its obvious that youre worth nothing to society. Awesome album. I took me forever to find all the songs (after years of looking for it in record stores). The bass is amazing, especially in "Betrayed" whoa, people have died for talking shit about ill repute. RKL reminds of Ill Repute, who reminds me of 80s cock-rock, which reminds me of why I stopped listening to the radio. Great band but really re-release your stuff already, it's fucking hard to find!! can't get enough of that Nardcore. brute metal force of Avenged Sevenfold??? Okay, I'm sure the bass on this album is amazing, but there's no way it puts Matt Freeman to shame. fan-fucking-tastic album. i think i've looked for a review for this a few times in the archives and was disturbed by it not being there. i need to stop skimming reviews, cause you addressed it being out of print right there. Score's for "Keep Laughing" (Mystic). is this out of print? epitaph released it so most likely.... ahhh the days when Dave Raun was amazing. he doesnt do shit in lagwagon. "man, good review So this is after "Reactivate". I've played a show with them about 3 years ago, they were good. Why even post this review? No offense but if you need to be told how hard RKL rock you should be banned from existing. Awesome album. "No, you're thinking of "Reactivate," which sucks" No, you're thinking of "Reactivate," which sucks. This album, on the other hand, does not include Bomber at all, and it rocks hard. The sick guitar solos, the bass playing, the drums, the vocals...man. RKL's best in my opinion. Is this the one that was released by the one original member (Bomber) who did a record under "RKL" by himself? man, good review this definitely deserves the score it was given I'm pretty sure I downloaded this cd like five years ago and I really liked it. I must have lost it about four and a half years ago though. The bass on this album really is amazing. So is the guitar, and the songwriting in general, but the style of bass exhibited on this record is truly unheard-of in punk music. |
