Ruiner is a new band, and thus, their name is probably going to bring up the immediate thought of A Wilhelm Scream due to that band's last effort. And while I'm sure it's a distinct possibility the members of Ruiner enjoy that record, their sound is one that draws more from the hardcore side of things notably more than the punk assembly. Similarities may be drawn to With Honor and early Modern Life Is War, but Ruiner seems fairly unique doing an otherwise paint by numbers sound.

good good good shit this was the best record last year easily and one of the top three bands running right now. SHIT IS AMAZING. there i said it. I recently saw Ruiner in Rochester and was overly impressed with their performance. They put together a very energetic set that felt seamless. The singer seemed really pissed off and never stopped running back and forth shouting at the top of his lungs. He seemed to be the only member of the band moving; but they sounded amazing live. Really promising stuff. This time It's for me, this time it's for us FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, you'll never see... The name honestly came from a Nine Inch Nails song... IF i cant think of a more deserving band, although farewell hope( ruiners old band) will forever own ruiner. they got their name from the simpsons... no way they got the name from a wilhelm scream...Ruiner has been a band since summer 2004 Great realease. But they did get their name from AWS new album...I mean really, where else? as for AWS's new realease I still love it, however i don't find it as catchy as i found "Mute Print". Now that right there, is still worth them 10 bucks I paid for it with. I listened to this cd a few days ago, and seriously, i don't care about the lyrics, but these lyrics are honestly the worst i've ever heard. Has anyone else found that after a couple months the new Wilhelm Scream record has become fucking boring? I loved it when I first heard it, now I get to the second track and turn it off. I saw these guys with Day Of The Dead (from Portugal!) and they were impressive. The singer was this little dude and he was so pissed. His face would turn a bright red/purplish shade while he was screaming out lyrics. I thought he was going to have a brain aneurysm. i saw this band over the summer and fucking loved it. This sounds good, but it can't be as good as A Wilhelm Scream's new album. wow two maryland hardcore bands in the same pile of reviews. Actually I like these. Actually i like these.
