With a name like Krum Bums releasing albums on street punk powerhouse TKO Records, you should have a general idea of what to expect with As the Tide Turns: fast and furious hardcore street punk that aims to obliterate rather than innovate.

amazing cd. I dont think the lyrics are weak......."Scratching on the Eight-ball" is about binging on cocaine......"In disgust, in disgust this darkness never leaves / Weeping and wailing and the mashing [sic] of the teeth / Unbearable and miserable feelings that never leave." I couldn't disagree more with these comments. This band / album are unlike 98% of what you classify as street punk today. Even unlike anything you can expect to hear from TKO. I think it is a refreshing listen... solid release. nothing unique but they do a played out sound pretty damn well These guys are pretty good live. they ain't gonna reinvent the wheel, but they give it a decent spin. Nice review. A girl I subed for recomended this band to me...they seem very standard street punkish. street punk is the retarded son of regular punk. strong pedigree, but hopelessly naive and stupid. that being said faux-emo is the retarded, slightly more feminine son of punk. |
