AFI have always been a staple to the punk community since releasing Answer That and Stay Fasionable on Nitro back in the mid-`90s. However, if you have been following this band's career you've likely asked yourself at some point, "What the hell has happened to these guys?" Some feel that since the release of Sing the Sorrow, their major label debut on Dreamworks, that they have become a commercial success nightmare. So upon watching this live DVD, I went into it with little hopes of it being a satisfying live show considering that a large portion of the songs responsible for my love of AFI aren't here in this package.

AFI is the best band, I love when Davey gets into the crowd and I laughed when he got fipped over, (Sorry Davey.) I alsothought it was funny in kill caustic when Davey does the strange move that I can't explain. That probably was the best AFI concert to date Fan fiction is fucking disturbing. Ew. haha a stable to the community. does anyone fucking read these reviews before they post them? Score is for the first 2 Godfather movies. The third one sucked. score is for the last comment AFI- Always Fucking Infants AFI - American Faggy Idols Haha. Was that AFI fan fiction?! That's fucked up. wow. If you ever needed a reason not to like AFI, here it is.... Seeing them on the Art of Drowning tour was one of the greatest experiences I've had. That said I can't tolerate their shit anymore. why don't you go back to sucking off the clash. Admit it Anonymous, you drive around in a black van with stenciled white snow graffix wallpapered on the inside with setlists. On a side note, why do 98% of the people on this website not know their/there/they're? i don't follow them around, i just happen to know that they are dusting off a lot of unplayed older songs "dude... compare Art of Drowning to Decemberunderground... ''Uhm... they AREN'T the same band. Mark and Geoff are long gone, and Geoff helped write a lot of the older songs. When you replace them with Hunter and a dude that looks like he spends 3 hours each morning doing his hair and makeup, you're bound to become shittier.'' Since I am pro-choice, how about: AFI man... there albums are good from Answer that to Art of Drowning, Sing the Sorrow has a few good songs on it but Decemberunderground... it's just not the same band... "old songs afi have played live within the last 6 months:" AFI man... there albums are good from Answer that to Art of Drowning, Sing the Sorrow has a few good songs on it but Decemberunderground... it's just not the same band... The bad thing about how awful AFI's new stuff is, is that it made me question why I ever liked them in the first place. Now I can't decide whether I just outgrew them, and subsequently still respect the older material (well, ok, Black Sails To Sing The Sorrow at any rate), or whether it was all just a horrible blip on my taste radar. Which sucks, because they used to be one of my favourite bands. abuncha fucking idiots asking for it. anthems for insubordinates. . American Film........ Institute A Fire............. Inside Afi old songs afi have played live within the last 6 months: good god. that has to be some of the cheesiest writing i have ever read. its all about shopping and being told he was a wizard by a cyber girl and being a corporate fashion whore while at the same time calling out regular people at vegas for being cretins do jade and davey have personal myspaces, or is it just the afi one? What do they say in their blogs? I'm curious, but I don't want my coworkers to see me on AFI's MySpace page. Not because I'm not supposed to be online, but because they would just think I was really lame. Boo! The only good concert recorded at Long Beach Arena was Iron Maiden "Live After Death". If anyone cares what's on Jade and Davey's Myspace blogs and judges their band because of it, that's pretty lame. If anyone cares what's on Jade and Davey's Myspace blogs and judges their band because of it, that's pretty lame. i kind of find it funny that outside of that mohawk song on Answer That, the only great lyrics that this band have ever sung are in a cover song by Filth - Todays Lesson Wow, remember when these guys actually put out a good record. Me neither. Answer That and Stay Fashionable is definitely their best shit. Blacks sails was alright, but come on...a classic. I don't think so. Davey used to have a fucking mowhawk, now he looks like a little bitch with all that fucking makeup and the hair...oh my god. He looks stupid. But I guess thats what sells. Most of their fans these days never even heard of them before the last release. Now All their shows are filled with ignorant kids and jocks that really don't know any thing about them, all they know is they saw them on mtv and it's cool to like them. Stupid kids! Listen to some real punk rock. answer that and stay fashionable and very proud of ya are complete garbage. thank god they evolved out of that, but the direction on their new album sucks too. way too 80's and poppy. they had 3 solid albums but they hold little appeal to me anymore. "Answer that and stay fashionable came out on wingnut." Does each DVD come with a random picture of one of the bandmembers again, so that they can trick their stupid fans into buying 4 of the same damn thing? a dissapointing review lineup "shut your mouth..." is the last good AFI record, yet all the hot topic kidz won't touch it cuz it's not all over Fuse. their loss! God called in sick is not that good of a song. please. Where the hell is the Big D review? I dont know how anyone can be an AFI fan after reading the kind of bullshit and crap that Jade and Davey spout in their myspace blogs "All in all, this is a worthy purchase for any AFI fan, and if you don't have the money to spend on this, just catch them live when they come to your town -- it will be just as good." Tongue in cheek statements rule. I'm done. No more PN.org for me today. listening to AFI or watching Brokeback Mountain, Which is gayer? "RE: KarlH RE: KarlH This review has a glaring error. if you "are" punk then you would see thru this shit. dude, remember when afi was in mrr? remember all the stupid shit dave said? remember his bald head , boots, suspenders? rememberhis skinhead nonsense. now look at him, just like he wanted back then.....to become rich and a "preacher" to the young. what a idiot. what a fucking girl. "if you don't have the money to spend on this, just catch them live when they come to your town" "Hunter and Jade also play along Davey with such charisma and enthusiasm. It really looks like they played to the best of their ability, and I respect that a lot. " people actually like this band? how many horrible releases do they need to have before kids realize that and promise they ever had has been pissed on and ruined? Score is for Davey's makeup. "This band is Dead To Me." so is AFI supposed to get a pat on the back for playing one SINGLE song off SYMOYE? I like AFI through Black Sails. The direction AFI has gone in really bums me out. It's one thing to be proud of your new material, but it seems like they're almost entirely ignoring their older fans now. I don't have any interest in seeing this, and since AFI used to be one of my favorite bands, that's sad. Seriously, where's the Big D review? I love this DVD. Unlike most other AFI fans (or fans of their older material), I'm really pretty happy that they left most of their older material off of the release. The newer material just sounds so much better and translates so well live. Saw this band live this past summer, got this DVD this winter, and... they both were quite good. I hear the gripes about AFI's descent into shittitude, and sure, they're a far cry from their hardcore past, but I still enjoy their new music, and their live show just makes me happy. So sue me. slow reviews day. all afi's new music makes me cringe. i didnt know these guys were a stable, but im glad, now i know where to tether my horse. "a stable" This band is dead to me. Don't see this band live, it is a huge dissapointment I still like these guys. |
