Charity compilations almost always have good intentions, yet the follow-through often does not live up to the potential. Perhaps the disc itself fails to be a good compilation in the first place, or possibly you just aren’t sure how much of your money is actually going to the charity, or how much of an impact your donation is making. Music Saves Lives certainly addresses the latter two of these problems, yet the former…well, that’s a bit less objective.

What happened to bands being pro-suicide? Seriously, if someone really wants to kill themselves, like, really, really (not just teen-angst bullshit, serious stuff), then they should be allowed to. "music saves lives? this shitty music makes me want to jump off a fucking cliff." music saves lives? this shitty music makes me want to jump off a fucking cliff. "I wonder how many people buy these things?" Score is for the compilation... that was put out to help those from abusive homes. I believe it had Darkest Hour and Coalesce on it. I wonder how many people buy these things? I used to get the Take Action ones, but the first couple had loads of unreleased stuff on them. It doesn't seem like people are getting much incentive to pony up the cash, which is a shame. Whatever, this just reminds me that my three months are up and I'm eligible to give blood again. |
