Upon first listen, I was ready to dismiss the Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell as just another post-Violent by Design Jedi Mind Tricks effort, but I’m glad I didn’t. Although it may sound like not much has changed from the last two albums in terms of production, flow, and lyrical content, after further review it becomes apparent that Servants a much deeper, more politically charged album than its predecessors from the underground rap team.

the torture papers is definetly their best, but all are very good violent by design was by far my favourite CD when I first picked it up, listened to every track time and time again. This has some new-school jedi mind bangers but comes no where close to their former excellency. the RA the Rugged Man verse on Uncommon Valor (which is most of the song as Vinnie Paz barely gets a verse in) is literally the best verse I've heard in over a year. Download that song immediately .The rest of the album is mediocre. I love this CD. dead prez is better Jedi Mind Tricks is of the utmost suckitude. Id say Jedi Mind Tricks, Necro and Run DMC would be really the only hip hop i listen to anymore Nerf Herder > Jedi Mind Tricks wtf old school the white wu tang. but worse. much worse. I can't believe this asshat is getting (his) reviews published again. "dec. definitely not the best underground hip hop, but not the worst." the white wu tang. but worse. much worse. dec. definitely not the best underground hip hop, but not the worst. |
