Considering that I live in Canada and the Weakerthans are among my favourite artists, the fact that I had never seen their live show could be considered somewhat criminal. I suppose I could use the excuse that they have, to my knowledge, never been to my previous home of Northern BC, but still -- it seemed shameful. Imagine my joy when I saw a flyer advertising that John K. and the boys would be rolling out to Vancouver Island for a show in support of Reunion Tour. Tears were shed, drinks were had, anticipation grew.

I actually just wanted to hear Gifts. My friend saw them do it and he said it was really good. "No Propagandhi stuff? Damn." i wish they would've play the Fest or hopefully come to Florida... held like water in our shaking hands... What album is "Virtue the Cat Explains Her Departure" on? I don't recognize the title. to davebrave, its on Reunion Tour. No Propagandhi stuff? Damn. What album is "Virtue the Cat Explains Her Departure" on? I don't recognize the title. Score is for the setlist. I would enjoy more from the first two albums (they make up about 25% of the this setlist), but the last 2 times I saw them there was about the same amount, so I'm very glad they arent playing less from these. I really dont understand why they have dropped Greatest Hits Collection and the Propagandhi songs --those seem like sure crowd favorites. I saw this tour when it came to Lawrence KS and I have to say, Last Town Chorus was one of the worse things I ever sat through. Theres a certain volume at which the slide guitar ceases to sound cool, and starts to sound like a cat being tortured. they need to learn that. man, why do the Weakerthans have to come to town when i'm out of town for the fest....they're such a good live band Girls with the greenest eyes... |
