Cleveland, Ohio punk rockers, the Sidekicks are Brendan Kelly’s favorite band right now and Red Scare’s newest addition. To be honest, this was about as much solid information I could dig up on this young trio. But with Tin Armor and Ghost Town Trio listed in their top MySpace friends, I correctly anticipated a competent musical contribution.

Just finally got this. Really good debut album. Definitely some solid 'orgcore. I am going to comment on the brevity and vagueness of this review. This album deserved attention but no one else had said anything. I put this out there with the intention that some people would check it out based on my positive outlook for the band and the fact it shares similarities to some other really good bands. Plus, a review is not supposed to be an over analysis. It is a brief summary of how the album worked for the writer. Most reviews on here are way too damn long. this album is raw nasty. and there is four sidekicks not three I love this album. It reminds me of what would happen if that band no one cares about, Signal Home, wrote off all their nu-emo tendencies and focused on gruff punk songs. This is not a review. More like an uneducated guess. ***we have four members The reviewer claims to have read no reviews of the band, and even after reading this I can't help but feel the same. Really? The only way to review the album was to name a few bands they may somewhat resemble? Cleveland! yeah, this band is pretty damn awesome, and matt is a bonafide STUD! Completely half-assed review for an album that deserves so much much. I say you need to re-write this one, dude. Is this the same Sidekicks that did that awesome song "Smirking Revenge" on Punk Rock Strike 3? I love how this review said almost nothing about the actual album...lame. speaking of ghost town trio and sidekicks.. have you guys heard matt from sidekicks and andy cook from ghost town trio's new band: "cleveland undercovers"? they're playing a show in cleveland this week Deffinitly a great album! and a damn good live show! the sidekicks kick ass, this album kicks ass These guys put on such a fun live show. I'd highly recommend you go see them if they should come near you. Their album is really great too. I just wish Red Scare would release it on vinyl. another shitty orgcore band... Pretty solid album. I attempted to see them with Lawrence Arms and Copyrights last month, but was involved in some almost-homosexual drunk wrestling with my bandmates.... though I WAS the only sober one. Hammers meeting foreheads (not mine) = fun! good, but....Ghost Town Trio > The Sidekicks. Seriously. When are those boys gonna get theirs? good, good, good. well, since all of the bands you mentioned are on my top list, i'll for sure check this out! one of the best bands around. |
