This was my first Rancid record. But after listening to it I though it was a piece of shit. So I gave it away. A few months passed by and I was checking out a used cd section at a local music store where I stumbled apon "Life Wont Wait". It seemed like an interesting album so I picked it up but it in the old cd player and fell in love. It was a masterpiece. It is still after some years one of my more favortier rancid records though i love them all. But Anyway I ended up getting all the Rancid records except for there very first one. There was just somthing holding me back from buying it and I dont know why. I was expecting somthing of a different album than I thought it was to be when I first got it awhile ago. So I went into the store and got it with much tribulation. It took me forever to decide whether or not to buy the damn thing. Well I got it. And i have no fuckin clue why my mind keep telling me to stay way from the damn disc! The more i think about it this is my favorite Rancid albums. Its old school. It reminds me of "let's go" and "s/t 2000" mixed togather. They are just as pissed off but not as hardcore. In some places such as the song 'unwritten rules' the guitars are kind Op ivy ish witch is no suprise if you know anything about op ivy and rancid and the time the recored came out. From the opening scream in 'Adina' to the ending chants of 'Get out of my way', this album embodys a punk masterpiece. Matt Freeman is the best bass player in punk music, Time Armstrong is probly one of the better song writters of this time and Brett Reed keeps a solid beat throught the hole album. The only thing different in this album ( line up wise) is that there is no Lars Fredricksen , which I don't mind. I don't mind at all. this album makes me drool........ This album is fuckin insane. Tim's vocals are way better than Matt's in my oppinion. life wont wait dosent compare to this cd matt has the best voice ever and he dosent even sing on life wont wait excpt for 4 words hahah, it finally comes out from others!, there were a few others (bsides me) that thought matt's bass lines were absolutely insane! He is so unappreciated. i definitely agree that this is a great record, but more importantly is that i found out that i'm not the only one who hails matt freeman as one of the greatest bassists ever ... LOC/CV are great, so is Rancid. I don't think this is the best Rancid album, but it's good nonetheless Shit? What the fuck do you listen to that you consider Leftover Crack shit?? why we have reviews on this website is a mystery to me, I'm sure most everyone on here would even give shit like Leftover Crack a 10, and in that case everything should get a perfect score. You guys are sad all looking at the spelling Kurt is sexy:)...and has good taste in music Okay okay i cant spell for shit. I am sorry. plus this is my frist review i have ever done. i hope to do more......with better spelling. har har. My story with the first Rancid album is strangely similar to that of the reviewer. I just picked up the first album last week, and I fucking love it! Why didn't I buy this five years ago!??!?! Its not my favorite, buts its better than "Life Won't Wait". it's funny how this reviewer's last review was free of spelling and grammar mistakes, yet this review is chock full of them. It really makes it difficult to read. The last review also actually reviews the album, rather than just talks about his reluctancy to buy the album (which is a good story btw) and then the fact that he likes the record. well golly fucking gee, i'm glad you like it. why is that? No, we aren't here to correct each other's "english". We are here to correct each other's English. Uhhhh... he didn't spell Fredericksen right... He can spell Fredericksen right, but not whole [spelled as "hole" in the review]? Sheesh kids, go get an education. Ok, I know we aren't here to correct each other's english, but come on now. I am way more stupid now, having read this. it's no ...and out come the wolves |
