BANKSHOT! signs The Glow / Charges against Mr. Bankshot dropped

BANKSHOT! Records has announced the signing of Boston, MA's The Glow. The label describes them as fusing punk, rock and soul in the tradition of Elvis Costello, Social Distortion and ? And The Mysterians. The band recently completed recording their debut album with David Age at Boston's New Alliance and Room 9 studios. The record is tentatively titled The Ghosts Are Out Tonight and a release date has not yet been announced.
Also, you may remember our story about Mr. Bankshot being arrested and illegally detained for participating in demonstrations against the Republican National Convention in NYC. This situation now has a resolution, as the charges have been dropped:

The sheer number of these cases that have been dismissed confirms what we have been saying all along, that people were locked up, without cause, in violation of their civil rights... that these were illegal, politically motivated arrests. The goal of these arrests was to hold as many protesters as possible, as long as possible, until Bush had finished his convention speech. It was to prevent the rest of the country from seeing how many New Yorkers really feel about G.W. Bush. I will be taking legal action against the NYPD, either by myself or as part of a class action, but first I'm voting..."

Bankshot was facing around 15 days at Rikers Island penal colony if convicted. During the convention he was held for a time at the Pier 57 Detention Center, pictures of which are online now.
