Disaster signs The HollowPoints and Civet
Disaster Records has signed Seattle's The HollowPoints and Southern California's Civet. Both bands have 7" records on the way this November and are preparing full lengths for the new year. The HollowPoints, who recently released a full length on Dirtnap Records, are releasing "Charcoal Tears" b/w "Skies turned Black". Their upcoming record The Black Spot will be produced by Duane Peters. Civet has "Everything, Everything" b/w "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" on the way. These new tracks from the all-female quartet were also produced by the Hunns frontman.
Disaster also recently released a 20 track anthology from San Francisco's The Insaints. The CD features their complete 1993 studio session along with demos from 90 and 92. Six tracks from a double split 7" with the Diesel Queens (on the Maximum Rocknroll label) round out the set. The label comments:
This is a 20 track anthology of great hardcore/street-punk rock from the late '80s, early 90's, by this legendary San Francisco band. Led by now-deceased fetish model/dominatrix MARIAN ANDERSON on vocals, and DANIEL DELEON (CALAVERA, the DEEP EYNDE) on guitar, the INSAINTS pushed the punk rock envelope further than any other artist before or since. MARIAN's sexual stage antics has become the stuff of legends, but the INSAINTS were also a great band, and this album proves it.
