John Frusciante's last album in series set for Jan. '05 release

John Frusciante's Curtains, the last album in his ongoing six-record series, has been set for a January 25th, 2005 release date.

Frusciante recorded the acoustic album at his house on a thirty-plus-year-old Ampex 8-track tape machine sitting on his living room floor. He played and sang the tracks and then did overdubs, which were assisted by Carla Azar of Autolux on drums, Ken Wylde on upright bass and Omar Rodriguez of The Mars Volta, who played lead guitar on two songs.

Curtains follows November's A Sphere In The Heart Of Silence, October's Inside Of Emptiness, September's Ian MacKaye-produced DC EP, August's Ataxia collaboration with Fugazi bassist Joe Lally titled Automatic Writing, and June's The Will To Death.
