Addison Records services new Manda & The Marbles track to podcasters
Manda & The Marbles' new album Angels with Dirty Faces has been pushed back from January 25th to February 22nd on Addison Records. This will be the follow up to 2002's More Seduction and their first recording with new keyboard player Elias.
Addison is showing their support for the rapidly growing cottage internet industry of podcasting by servicing 100 copies of the Manda and the Marbles track "Ode to Rock" to podcasters. For the uninitiated, podcasting is basically independent radio-on-demand that grew out of blogging. Most podcasts are formatted like radio programs of varying length, recorded to MP3s and syndicated on web logs and using RSS. Addison founder Marc Alghini commented "With corporate commercial radio continuing to tighten playlists and homogenizing programs, the public seem to be making their own communities to generate ideas, thoughts and turn people on to music that they truly love and have a passion for." Addison claims to be the first label to actively service music to podcasters.
