Newest Industry's 2005 outlook
The UK's Newest Industry has laid out their plans for the coming months:
- The release date for the Four Letter Word album Like Moths To a Flame has been pushed back to March 14th.
- Spring sees a release of the yet to be titled debut album from Former Cell Mates, a band featuring Dave Burdon of Leatherface and members of the Coyote Men, the Golden Virgins and the Illegal Movers.
- Spring will also bring two simultaneous releases from Black Cougar Shock Unit, including the Hello Black Cougar Shock Unit CDEP and the still untitled debut album. The band will tour Europe in late summer, early fall.
- Late summer will see a release by Winnipeg's The Paperbacks. The album is being recorded by John K. Samson of The Weakerthans.
- Somewhere in between all this, they will also be co-releasing the Panthro UK United 13 Collection CD with No Idea Records.
- On Sunday, September 18th, the label will be holding their first ever festival, featuring bands like Black Cougar Shock Unit, Former Cell Mates, the Paperbacks, the Phoenix Foundation, Four Letter Word, No Choice and Bedford Falls (with more to be confirmed). The venue will be The Welsh Club in Cardiff, UK.
