The Oppressed are set to play the Insurgence Birthday Bash on Saturday April 30th, 2005 backed up by Montreal's the Prowlers with local support from the Class Assassins and the Fallout. The show will take place at the 360 in Toronto and tickets have been moving fast, so check the Insurgence Records online store for availability. The night before the show, Oppressed frontman Roddy Moreno will be spinning skinhead reggae at a Dancecrasher DJ night with the Soul Bhoys (TO) and a guest DJ from the Heavy Manners set (NYC).
A new single from the Oppressed is on the way. The aptly titled The Insurgence EP features four new and exclusive tracks. A limited edition white vinyl pressing will be available at the Birthday Bash. In April Insurgence will be releasing the complete discography of the Oppressed as two double CD sets. The first, titled Skinhead Times - 1982~1998 will contain all the original material the band ever recorded along with exclusive unseen photos and material from their articles. The second set is titled Won't Say Sorry - The Complete Cover Story and will feature all the band's cover songs. It will also feature a few reggae tunes the band performed as the Rude Boys.
