Break-ups: The Frenetics (1999-2005)
Montreal's Frenetics have called it quits. After forming in the summer of 1999 the three piece went on to release the Scenery EP on Grenadine Records and the full lengths These Mistakes Took Years of Practice (2001) and
Grey Veins to the Parking Lot (2004) on the Union Label Group. At the time of their breakup the band consisted of vocalist / guitarist Malcolm Bauld, bassist Alex Seliger and drummer Anne Gauthier.
The band's final video, for the song "Journalist," is on rotation now on Much Loud and will be posted on the label's website in the next week. The Frenetics also recorded a live set in June of 2004 for CBC Radio 2, the results of which can be streamed on JustConcerts.
Malcolm Bauld is currently pursuing a solo career and just completed a January tour that took him west to Vancouver and back. He has posted two new songs on his MySpace site, part of a five song demo recently recorded with Mark Perno at Hell's Kitchen Studios. Check his website soon for announcements on upcoming Montreal shows, as well as a collaboration with Sudbury's Statues.
