Locomotive named in honour of Joe Strummer

On this past Saturday, February 12th, late Clash frontman Joe Strummer had a train named in his honour. The Joe Strummer locomotive was unveiled in a ceremony at the Bristol Temple Meads station, with Joe's wife Lucinda unveiling a name plaque. The vehicle is a Class 47 diesel locomotive, originally designed in 1962 and owned by Cotswold Rail. It's expected to see active service in East Anglia.
