Break-ups: Faultlines (2001-2005)

After four years, Iowa City-based post-hardcore band Faultlines have broken up. The band posted the following statement:

Most of you Iowa City folk that are friendly with us know this already, but Faultlines has officially disbanded. We didn't go out in a bloody mess, hating each others guts or anything, we didn't fight all the time on tour or anything.

Singer/guitarist Dan Maloney will be continuing with his acoustic project, Deathships, who have a song on Deep Elm's This Is Indie Rock, Vol. 2 compilation. Bassist Brian Korey is now playing bass for Jumpstart Records band Divide By Zero. Drummer Sam Koester has joined a Muscatine, Iowa-based hardcore band, while guitarist/singer Drew Bixby is moving to Colorado to attend grad school. The band plan to have one last final show in Iowa City this July, most likely at Gabe's Oasis.

The band put out two EPs and one full-length, Travelogue, on Action Heights Records in 2004.
