Green Day poster banned from NY hotel
According to this story, Grammy-winning band, Green Day has raised the ire of Marriott with a recent promotional poster that was intended for its Times Square Hotel.
The poster, which features the familiar bloody hand clutching a hand grenade comes from the artwork adorning American Idiot. According to a Marriott spokesperson "We have the right to review all advertising that goes on our buildings, and if we feel it has any political, pornographic or inappropriate content, we have the right to reject that ad."
Billy Joe was "dumbfounded" by the hotel's rejection adding that "I thought it was an April Fool's prank." The band will soon begin the second leg of a tour across the US, Europe and recently played in Japan and Australia.
