Hot Hot Heat prepares acoustic EP

Hot Hot Heat has announced plans to release a five song acoustic EP. The band recently recorded five acoustic versions of songs from Elevator including "Jingle Jangle," "You Owe Me an IOU," "Pickin' It Up," "Goodnight, Goodnight" and "Middle of Nowhere" and plans to release the EP later this year.

Vocalist Steven Bays explained that:

It's just a totally different vibe -- like it sounds like old Johnny Cash, Just two acoustic guitars, vocals and harmonies -- but it's not watered-down versions of the album. It's really, really cool.

The band is also planning to release some of the more than twenty five songs the band recorded for their major label debut. The tracks will start to appear on singles, including the upcoming single for Goodnight, Goodnight which will include "When We Were Kids. "

The Canadian band will soon head out for a series of dates with Robbers on High Street and the Blue Van.
