New York Dolls sign to Roadrunner, begin work on new album
The New York Dolls, who recently reunited on the urging of Morrissey, have announced that they have signed to Roadrunner Records. The proto-punk act will soon begin work on a new full length with an expected 2006 release date.
The reunited act features founding members David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain, with Steve Conte (guitar), Sami Yaffa (bass), Brian Delaney (drums) and Brian Koonin (Keyboards). Original bassist Arthur Kane passed away in July of 2004. According to Roadrunner A&R Director David Benson:
I can't believe I just signed the most dangerous band in the history of Rock'n'Roll! I've heard all about the legendary first few years, bought the records, read the books, saw the photographs.
The sound of this record will be true to form New York Dolls -- down and dirty rock'n'roll,
The band is currently touring North America with scheduled stops at Bumbershoot in Seattle, Sunset Junction Fest in LA and the Voodoo Fest in New Orleans. You can click Read More for some of the dates.
