Tours: The Gossip touring this fall, new record on the way

After a long period of inactivity Portland's the Gossip are gearing up for a busy fall. The punk / soul / blues act will be on tour throughout September and playing shows until the end of October. The band recently completed recording a new full length entitled Standing in the Way of Control that's expected to be released on Kill Rock Stars in the near future. In addition you can expect a new split 12" with Le Tigre, a retrospective DVD titled Our Band Could be Yer Wife and a limited edition Australian tour only 7" / CD EP. The Gossip were sidelined recently as vocalist Beth Ditto went under the knife for gall bladder surgery. Several benefits have taken place in the Pacific Northwest, so check back with the band's MySpace profile for upcoming events (and while you're there, preview the new track "Jealous Girls").
