The Dictators working on rarities album
The Dictators have begun work on a retrospective release which will include demos, outtakes, and other previously unreleased material from the band which originally formed in 1974.
The band recently released Viva Dictators!, a live set
and bassist Andy Shernoff told Billboard.com what to expect from the new compilation:
Dictator classics like 'Backseat Boogie' and 'Fireman's Friend' -- based on the 'Superman' episode which you probably never saw, I'm going to put on some of those wacky, extended remixes -- almost dub kind of mixes. Then we've got some rehearsal tapes -- interesting things. It's not going to be all hi-fi, but it's going to be for the fans of the band."
The record is expected on Norton Records, home to likeminded acts The Flamin' Groovies and the Sonics, and home to a handful of the band's earlier material.
