Smoking Popes to reunite for Flower15, more additions including Evergreen Terrace, Pelican, others
Smoking Popes have been added to the upcoming Flower15 festival l organized by the long-running booking agency, Flowerbooking. The Chicago-based band included Josh, Eli and Matt Caterer and Mike Felumlee who went on to Duvall, Colossal and Alkaline Trio. They broke up in 1999 shortly after releasing their second Capitol release, Destination Failure. A posthumous release of the covers collection titled The Party's Over followed in 2001.
The organizers have also added the following bands to the lineup: Criteria, Cougars, Bella Lea, Big Business, The Chariot, Evergreen Terrace, Hopesfall, Pelican, Since By Man and Tristeza. They join the previously confirmed acts the Promise Ring, Local H, Isis, Ted Leo, Jimmy Eat World, Maritime, American Analog Set, Just a Fire, Detachment Kit, Essex Green and Make Believe.
The six day fundraiser will take place November 8th through the 13th at the Metro in Chicago, IL.
The show is intended to commemorate the 15th year of the long-running booking agency and aims to raise $50,000 or more for P.L.A.Y. (Possibilities in Life: Art for Youth) a youth charity that aims to provide a constructive and creative outlet for
young victims of abuse.
