The Lawrence Arms enter studio for next official album
The Lawrence Arms have announced on their site that the band has entered the studio for the proper followup to 2003's The Greatest Story Ever Told. Producer Matt Allison, responsible for the band's last two full-lengths and the engineering for the recent B-sides compilation Cocktails & Dreams, has once again been rounded up for the recording.
Specifically, vocalist/bassist Brendan Kelly mentioned the following:
HEY!! We're in the fucking studio! That's right everyone, we've moved into the new and improved Atlas studios and have been practicing in the live room. We're just waiting for Matt Allison to return from his week long coke binge with his notes on our shitty four track demos and then we're getting started on the record. Shit's pretty exciting. First, we'll do good demos, then we'll leak them to the internet, where it will be all of your jobs to say that the demos sound pretty crappy, not really that promising. THEN, when the record comes out, it will be your jobs to listen to that and go around saying that we ruined the songs by changing them from the demo version (which will henceforth be referred to as the "much better version"). Everything clear? Sweet. Seriously though, we're pretty excited about everything. We've named almost every song and we're gonna have at least three spares for some sweet ep, unreleased track, comp, etc. action. There is at least one country song...
with love,
Brendan
A release is expected in early 2006 on Fat Wreck Chords.
