Schayer Out, Baker still in...
Some more Bad Religion/Epitaph news.
According to Billboard, drummer Bobby Schayer, who had been with the band since 1992, left the group last month due to an inoperable rotator cuff problem. The condition would not allow him to continue playing. The band is meeting with new drummers.
Brett Gurewitz has also said that that former Minor Threat bass player Brian Baker, who replaced him on guitar in 1995, will remain a part of the band. Gurewitz has yet to announce whether he will tour with the group, but will at least play the occasional show (most likely).
Graffin and Gurewitz have had nothing but good things to say about their reunion. "I really stretched myself to the limit writing on my own," Graffin told Billboard, "I think I lost sight of some of the songs because I was just concentrating on getting the records done." Gurewitz has been equally positive, "I just write songs for Greg with him in mind," he says. "He's my favorite singer, so it's great for me to know that he's going to be singing these songs."
The band has completed 16 songs for the as yet-untitled album, which Epitaph will realease in October.Source: Billboard
