Thursday outlines 2006 plans: Warped Tour, album status, holiday show with mewithoutYou
Thursday, who were among the first handful of bands confirmed for Warped Tour 2006, have outlined some of their plans for the new year.
More artists and a full routing are expected to be announced around Thanksgiving.
Besides joining Rise Against, NOFX, Motion City Soundtrack, and From First to Last on the tour, the band will be releasing their upcoming full length for Island Records. The album will be their first since 2003's War All The Time.
The band will also be performing some low-key shows in the Spring, and a 2nd Holiday show at the
Starland Ballroom. The band had a similar performance last year, and featured Converge and Dillinger Escape Plan. This fall, the band will be performing with mewithoutYou and Circle Takes the Square.
The band also had this to say about their new record, which has at least 16 songs written:
Andrew has been writing so many beautiful keyboard parts and Dave Fridmann (our producer) has been helping him to really find his place in the band. Tucker is playing like an animal and his drums sound really full. I've been writing a lot about growing up and all of the things that change. The way that places change around you and the way that you change them. I've been thinking a lot about what it means to lose your innocence and why we all yearn for a place to make our home...
The band saw a leak of some early demos from the session, but responded positively to the event. The group is also planning to enlist the help of friends like Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw) and Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) to provide some guest spots on the record.
Punknews.org has interviewed the band twice, once in 2001 and once in 2003.
