Updates from The Queers: new album, reissues, tribute album
The Queers has released an update on their plans for the next year.
The band recently completed a trip to Australia and have some time booked soon to begin work on their next full length. For the next album, the pop-punk act is planning to enlist the help of Lisa Marr, JJ Rassler and Ben Weasel who will also contribute in some way to the record which will be recorded in Chicago.
Other release plans include a live album this year which they are planning to release via their own Doheny Records. Besides that, the band has joined numerous defectors from the troubled Lookout Records camp with plans to re-release much of their older material via Asian Man Records. That label was responsible for a full slate of Screeching Weasel releases throughout 2005.
As with those releases, the Queers editions will be remastered and remixed and the band hopes to issue Vinyl releases via Doheny as well. A tribute album is also in the works, with contributions from The New Bomb Turks, Teengenerate, Screeching Weasel, Parasites, Le Volume Etait Au Maximum and the Femurs. Hopes are that the Hard-Ons, Dwarves and others will round out the track listing
