Ted Leo composing soundtrack, writing new album, touring
Pitchfork Media is reporting that bard Ted Leo will be penning the soundtrack to an upcoming musical. The show, titled Red Bananas was written by Brad Rouse and is loosely based around US involvement in Guatemala since the 1950's. The musical will be premiering in Seattle in the late spring.
Mr. Leo is also in "deep writing mode" for his rock 'n roll songs with backing band The Pharmacists. Following the wrap up of their current tour, the band will be heading into the studio to record what he describes as "not a radical departure" from their previous works. Currently two songs are titled "La Costa Brava" and "The Sons of Cain".
Also of note is the future of his label status. The perils of Lookout! Records have been well documented and as such, Leo is promising an announcement with the next couple of weeks.
Ted and the Pharmacists will also be heading out on tour with Les Aus for the month of March. Read More for those dates
