Bedouin Soundclash, Arcade Fire up for Juno awards
The nominees for the 35th annual Juno Awards have been announced. The awards are doled out annually by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. A category of interest this year is "Single Of The Year," which includes Ontario's Bedouin Soundclash for their track "When the Night Feels My Song" competing against Broken Social Scene member Feist among others. Bedouin is also in the running for "New Group Of The Year" against acts like Boys Night Out and Silverstein .
Montreal's Arcade Fire is up for both "Songwriter Of The Year" and "Video Of The Year" (twice, in fact) largely for the songs "Rebellion (Lies)" and "Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out)." A number of high profile Canadian indie rock acts are competing for "Alternative Album Of The Year," including Broken Social Scene, Hot Hot Heat, Metric, Tegan & Sara and the New Pornographers.
A full list of nominations can be found on the Juno website. The award show will be broadcast live from Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sunday, April 2nd at 7pm on the CTV network.
