On August 29th, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the gulf coast leaving devastation and misery in its wake. In addition to the human tragedy that unfolded many animals were abandoned, lost, trapped, starving and confused. However, organizations such as HSUS, Noah?s Wish, WSPA, ASPCA, SNAP, Best Friends and most notably the Louisiana SPCA organized volunteers who worked tirelessly, Day and night, risking their lives to rescue as many of these stranded animals as possible.
This compilation brings together artists from the punk and hardcore music scene who want to thank the LA/SPCA and all the other volunteers who dedicated their time to save the helpless animals of New Orleans and the surrounding areas.
Please join us in support of the LA/SPCA shelter, as they continue their animal relief efforts in their devastated community. We also hope that this compilation will help raise awareness of the important role that all non-profit animal rescue organizations play in our communities and what you can do to help.
