It's official, Mike is out of the Alkaline Trio

Mike Felumlee, formerly of the Smoking Popes can now also add ex-Alkaline Trio to any future projects. He has officially announced that he was fired from the band on the Alk3 webboard. His letter is posted below.

Dear Trio Fans:
As many of you may already know, I have been kicked out of the
Alkaline Trio. I wish I had a good explanation about why, but I don't. All I
can say is that Matt doesn't want to tour with me anymore. I guess he feels
we are just too different to get along on the road. It came as quite a shock
to me and I am pretty sad and disappointed about the whole thing.
I just wanted to write this letter to thank you all for
showing your support for the band. I'd like to thank all of you who helped
make this last tour and all of the tours I did with the Trio an amazing
success. It seemed like every show was better than the last and that's all
thanks to you. I had a great time meeting a lot of you and reading your
e-mails (I still have quit a few to respond to and I'll get to as many of
them as I can). I feel very honored to have been a part of the band. I will
miss it a great deal. I'm still in love with the music and I hope they can go
on to become bigger and better.
I will be focusing my future efforts in music on my label Double
Zero Records. I will also be releasing a solo record in the coming months.
Aside from that I'll be spending my time enjoying home life with my wife and
son. Thanks again to all of you, I hope you all keep loving the trio's music
as much as ever. I know I will.
