The North Atlantic signs to WPO Records
The North Atlantic have signed to WPO Records. The East/West-distributed label is also host to Stretch Arm Strong and Patent Pending.
The label had this description of the band's sound: New York post-punk,
Chicago noise rock and San Diego punk into a harmonized return of
controlled chaos" and the band has drawn comparisons to Archers of Loaf, Hot Snakes
and Dismemberment Plan.
The band, who recently resurfaced after being semi-dormant since the release of Wires in the Walls in 2003, had this to say:
fter six years, nine tours, three vans, four guitar rigs, six cracked cymbals, two shaves, one haircut, countless wonderful memories, countless less-than-wonderful memories, and more good friends and fellow travelers than we really know what to do with, The North Atlantic has found a label to call home. We Put Out Records, of Weehawken, NJ, has taken The North Atlantic into its expansive, hairy arms. [...] We're very, very excited to be working with good people that believe in our art and music. Thanks to them, you'll be seeing an awful lot more of us in the coming months and years.
The band has some dates coming up including a stop in Austin, Texas for SXSW at the Alternative Press party. You can click Read More for the dates.
