Sunday Edition: April 16th, 2006

It's Sunday April 16th, 2006. So it finally warmed up `round these parts, and hopefully you guys got out this weekend and enjoyed it. I know tearing yourselves away from trading bad quality 25 second radio rips of "Miss Murder" was hard though. Seriously, I don't think we've had more news submissions about under a minute of audio in a long time. It sort of made the actual release of the song some two days later a tad anticlimactic, no?

Stories you were talking about this week

So... yeah... New AFI single. Was there ever a question which story would come out on top this week? It's the end of an era as Epitaph retires the venerable Punk-O-Rama series while launching its successor in the form of Unsound. Speaking of long running comps from the big `E, the next volume of Give Em the Boot was announced. NOFX is gearing up for this coming week's release of Wolves in Wolves' Clothing with a new song and new video online. Popular rock / funk act the Red Hot Chili Peppers gave punk a nod by posing as the Misfits, Sex Pistols and Nirvana in a new video. We're getting ready for the next Bouncing Souls record, and is that an Avoid One Thing cover in the track listing? Guests for the upcoming New York Dolls reunion record have been announced, and they include Iggy Pop, REM's Michael Stipe and Against Me!'s Tom Gabel. Rancid's returned from the wilderness with new acoustic videos (including an Operation Ivy cover) and news of a worldwide tour, upcoming DVD and their next record. Finally A Wilhelm Scream announced their new bassist as Brian Robinson of the Fullblast joined the acclaimed group.

This week we spoke with Bellingham, WA's Shook Ones. Check it out. We also exclusively streamed a number of songs from the new Against All Authority album.
