CD Baby secures retail distribution for independent acts
Popular indie distributor CD Baby has announced a new distriibution deal that will allow label-free artists to sell their CD in more than 2400 retail music stores in the United States.
The partnership with distributor/wholesaler Super D will put albums in chains like Tower, Borders, Best Buy, Hot Topic, and Transworld, as well as independent stores from the Coalition for Independent Music Stores and Alliance of Independent Media Stores.
CD Baby, a notable distributor, works directly with independent musicians, and acts as the largest seller of independent albums on the web. The site features more than 130,000 self-released titles and also provides a way for independent artists to distribute their music through iTunes and Yahoo Music.
