Sham 69 cancels South American dates
Sham 69 has announced the cancellation of the band's upcoming June tour to Brazil and Argentina. The band cites Jimmy Pursey's recent work on an English Word Cup anthem ("Hurry Up Harry" from That's Life reworked as "Hurry Up England") as the reason. In April Pursey announced that he would record the single as a national theme song for this year's World Cup, proceeds form which would go to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The band's explained that "Hurry Up England" has since become a phenomenon and the resulting press and recording commitments have become priority.
The band expects to announce replacement dates in South America soon.
