Updates from Dischord: Channels (J.Robbins), Soccer Team, Joe Lally, The Evens
We dropped Dischord an email over the weekend to check on the status of a number of their upcoming projects and releases.
First, Channels, which includes producer/Jawbox frontman J. Robbins, Janet Morgan and Darren Zentek, will be releasing their debut full length and follow up to their Desoto-release EP, this August. The album is titled Waiting For The Next End of the World was was produced by the band and mixed by Robbins.
Soccer Team will be releasing their new album in August. The band is a project from Dischord employees Ryan Nelson and Melissa Quinley and Nelson is also in the Routineers and formerly
played in both Most Secret Method and Beauty Pill.
Fugazi bassist Joe Lally, who had been working with Decahedron and John Fruscanti, is currently in the studio finishing work on his solo debut with a record due out in October. The Evens, which includes Lally's former bandmate and legendary punk/hardcore pioneer Ian MacKaye as well as Amy Farina, will be recording their next album in June and a release is also expected in October. The new album follows the band's 2005 debut, The Evens.
