Studio updates from Converge; members of Hope Conspiracy, Septic Youth Command participating
Influential metal/hardcore act Converge have posted an update from the studio as their record their upcoming full length. The band will work on their second full length for Epitaph. The album will follow the band's 2004 release You Fail Me and is expected sometime this year.
They had this to say:
Recording is going well so far. Percussion and bass have been recorded in their entirety. Some vocals are also completed with more to follow throughout the week. Guitar tracking is also underway. We hope to begin mixing in the next week or so.
JR Conners (ex Cave In, now of Doomriders) and Alex Garcia-Rivera (Bloodhorse, ex-454 Big Block, ex-GUTG) added a bit of percussion during a recent session. Kurt and Jake also added a bit of percussion as well during that session.
Vocally, Jonah Jenkins (Septic Youth Command, ex-Only Living Witness, ex-Miltown, etc) will be contributing shortly, as well as Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy). We all excited to have those two aboard as guests on this recording. It means a great deal to us.
Members of the band spent 2005 involved with a variety of projects, Bassist Nate Newton and Doomriders issued their first full length, Black Thunder last year. Drummer Ben Koller continues to tour with Cave In supporting their album Perfect Pitch Black.
Guitarist Kurt Ballou is busy producing and engineering records as well as writing a guitar tech column for AMP. Vocalist Jacob Bannon continues to work on his art and run Deathwish Inc.
