Oh God, Here Come The Cramps!

"Vengeance is ours; The Cramps' record label to be distributed by Mordam
Records." Read on for the entire press release! Oh yeah, Im sorry I have not been posting lately. I don't have a computer here at college yet, but I will very soon. And the AFI, Bouncing Souls, and De La Hoya interviews will be up soon.

… August 28th, 2001:
The Cramps, the longest living punk rock band in the world, regained
control
of 6 full length titles and, to their credit, decided to venture off on
their own with the help of the distributor whose moniker should read
"Independence or Death!", Mordam Records. The Cramps have exhumed
their
first-born and brought back Vengeance records, their own label which
originally issued the two classic singles "The Way I Walk" / "Surfin'
Bird"
and "Human Fly" / "Domino" back in 1978. Having made a pact with
Mordam
Records, Vengeance Records will inaugurate this resurrection with the
simultaneous re-release of 6 back catalog titles in October 2001,
including
color vinyl LP releases! This is to be followed in spring 2002 by the
first
new album by The Cramps in many a moon. The mission is to continue
releasing The Cramps' records until beyond infinity. The six titles
available in October 2001 are:
… "Rockinnreelininauklandnewzealandxxx"
… "Smell Of Female"
… "A Date With Elvis"
… "Stay Sick!"
… "Look Mom No Head"
… "Big Beat From Badsville"

It would be almost impossible to have never heard of The Cramps. Their
career has been the stuff of legend. Dangerously bizarre but most of
all
cool, The Cramps represent everything that is truly reprehensible about
rock
n' roll. As punk rock pioneers in the late seventies, they cut their
teeth
on the stages of CBGB's and Max's Kansas City and recorded their first
record at Sam Phillips legendary Sun Studios. They coined the term
"psychobilly" on their 1976 gig posters, and they are the architects of
a
sound that has spawned an entire subversive subculture.

Mordam Records, founded in 1983 by Ruth Schwartz, is the exclusive home
to
over thirty important independent record labels and publications. To
date
you can see Alternative Tentacles, Asian Man, Kill Rock Stars,
Polyvinyl,
Jade Tree, Sympathy For The Record Industry and many others. 2001 saw
Mordam add a number of noteworthy indie labels; Crypt, New Red
Archives,
GSL, Three One G, PunkCore, Scooch PoochŠand we are proud to announce
the
latest addition, Vengeance Records aka The Cramps starting in October!
Happy Halloween everyoneŠ
