Joey Cape blogging about Bad Astronaut's new album, Derrick, more
Joey Cape, frontman of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut has begun blogging about the latter's upcoming full length, One Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment.
In the blog posting, Joey addresses many speculations that began after the band announced the record. Much of the questions surround the role played by the band's late drummer Derrick Plourde who tragically took his own life in March 2005. Derrick was also the subject of much of Lagwagon's last album, Resolve.
An excerpt:
A lot of the song writing seemed relatively unworthy when compared to our earlier records. Still, I knew this record had potential and when I recovered from the shock that followed Derricks suicide, I knew what I had to do. I had to finish the record for him. I had to pick up the pieces, sort through them and make our last collaboration worthy of his greatness.

The album will follow up the band's 2001 release, Acrophobe and 2002's, Houston, We Have a Drinking Problem.
