MySpace launches voter drive
In a surprising move, uber-popular social networking site MySpace has joined a voter registration drive. The site has set up a non-partisan profile here which is encouraging people to register and vote in the upcoming midterm elections. The site allows people to register to vote directly from the profile.
In the recent 2004 presidential elections, only 64% of eligible voters participated in the election according to the Census. With Myspace's estimated reach topping 51 million unique users in May, this could expose many younger voters to the process.
